Continuum

Welcome To The Jelly Parade!

I'm currently listening to John Mayer's Continum and excuse my French here but fuck me! What an amazing album it is!

I was at the
Kancil Air Awards presenting an award and I don't know if it was the beer or the fact that I was too hungry to care, but I actually sang 'The Tide Is High' and did that stupid robot dance on stage that never fails to make me look like an idiot... and my boss said "I'm so proud of you".

At the awards party I rediscovered what I already knew, that
gin is the devil's piss - it fucks you up proper. Excuse the vulgarity but I've only ever experienced such a super bad hangover once before, and it invloved some gin.

I've just recently discovered the wonderful world of
3G. With my new Sony Ericsson Z601i, I've been making alot of video calls. Only to be told later by someone that they cost RM0.50 a minute. Is this true or is it just a myth? I couldn't care less. 3G is the future of telecommunications.

I've been a
DVD slut lately, averaging at least 3 movies a week. The latest DVD to taint my eyes was Hostel, directed by Eli Roth. It sucks.

Here is an excerpt from the
blog of my alter ego.

Malaysian Hospitality Is Still Alive

Today I was late for work. I parked my car at KL Sentral, walked up to the KLIA Transit area and realized that I’d left my wallet at home. This means NO travel card, NO cash and A LOT of incoming panic.

I told myself, chillax, think and figure something out. I called Basil, who was already at the studio, and he said there was nothing he could think of that I could do. At this point the train was 3 minutes to departure. In utter desperation, a light bulb illuminated above my head as I spotted an MAS flight attendant walking towards the ticket counter. Trying my best not to look like a conman, I swallowed a gallon of my pride, explained my situation to her and asked for a loan of RM12. Her name is Alyssa and she was so terribly nice, she said I needn’t pay her back. Of course, while trying not to look like I had a train to catch (when in fact I DID have a train to catch that was leaving in 50 seconds), I hurriedly took her number and almost broke my neck running down to the platform.

My life might just as well be a TV drama because just as I was pushing the button to open the train doors, it started sliding away from me – like Jojo sang, I was a little too late. Bummer.

Anyway, later that night after the show, Basil said he had to stop by the ATM first to loan me some cash because he only had RM7 on him at the moment. Between the both of us, that made it RM9. Of course, despite the fact that all the ATMs had big fat 24 HOURS plastered on it, all of them were out of service. I was already deciding where was the most comfortable spot to sleep at in the studio when Basil suggested borrowing money from yet another stranger. Swallowing the second gallon of my pride (I have quite a lot of it) I went to the KLIA convenience shop, stood at the entrance fidgeting for maybe 5 minutes, then I approached the guy behind the counter to ask for a loan of RM3.

I was blushing like lobster when I spoke to the guy, Ashran. He was so horribly nice, he said I needn’t pay him back. Of course, while trying not to look like I had a train to catch, I told him I’d be back tomorrow to pay him back and ran down to the counter – only to find that it was closed! Thank goodness the lady kindly opened it again just to sell me the ticket. Phew.

So who ever said that Malaysian hospitality is dead? As a result of tonight, I’ve decided to do a documentary around Malaysia and see if a person can travel on Malaysian hospitality alone.

Eurotrip

So I got back from Paris a few days ago and what can I say, Paris is everything I expected it to be. Some fools (okla, some friends) told me before I left that Paris is overrated and there's actually no biggie about it but I personally have fallen in love with Paris and am looking forward to go there again. Soon, I hope.

Before I left, of course I duly got stoned in Amsterdam and therefore have no recollection whatsoever about what happened from there right up to when we arrived in Paris (thanks to the weed, I slept all throughout the journey). In that big fat blank however, one memory prevails - and that is of me crossing the road and looking at the traffic from left.

Here in Europe they drive on the right side of the road.

Well I didn't end up like one of those butchered pigeons who lost their lives to the tram because they were not wary of the traffic, so I guess I have one thing to be thankful for this week.

Anyway I really love Paris and here are some pictures so you can love Paris (and Amsterdam) too.

This is the very first spacecake I had in the Dam before I left for Paris.

If you don't know what this is, well it's called the Eiffel tower and it's one of the wonders of the world. For more info, you can always try wikepedia.org.

We walked allll the way up to save money (it's only 3E compared to 11E for the elevator...

... and we took this dodgy picture with the wind blowing our hair all over the place. SO not Vidal Sassoony.

This is Louis Vuitton at the Champs Elysees. I don't know how to upright the picture here in xanga so you'll just have to tilt your head for a good look. Tip: It's next to impossible to get a taxi at the Champs Elysees after 1 a.m. so either DON'T miss the Metro (which is the European equavailent (sp?) to our LRT) or just turn on full kiasu mode and walk wayyy ahead of the taxi stand to catch a cab at the street corner.

And this is the Basilique du Sacre Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) right on top of the hill at Montemarte, which is my favourite place in all of Paris. It is a very boho, artsy, quaint little village with art shops, antique shops and cafes along the street. My dream is to marry a Frenchman and live there someday. Or maybe work really hard, make alot of money and live there someday. Whichever comes first.

Paris is all about fashion, art, beautiful architecture and cafes. It's so hard not to like it.

Amsterdam on the other hand, is all about...

Sex...

 Weed...

PA050231

More sex...

And more weed (but not rock and roll though, so don't be fooled by this picture).

It's also hard not to like the Dam.

This is how my latest tattoo looks like. I got it today in a shop called Bodycult. It's smack in the middle of the red light district and it's behind the old church.

It says fee verte and it's on my left wrist.

Oh well, I suppose a holiday is not meant to be permanent, else it won't be called a holiday then would it. It's back to work in a few days and I. Am. So. Looking. Forward. To. It.

Oh No!

I lost the CD Fuzz mixed for this weekend's show. I went over to his place to pick it up yesterday afternoon but then I was rushing to catch the train so I thought I left it in the car. Now I'm looking for it and

I can't find the damn thing

I am royally screwed.

Sasau Sessions: Pt 24

The Party

I was at Thirst Studio 2006 last night at KL Tower. Groove Armada was the main act, opened by
Cosmicspacemunkys and before them, Bangkok based (if I'm not mistaken) band Futon with H.U.M.P performing the closing. Except for Cosmicspacemunkys and Groove Armada, it was alright only la. Even then, Groove only spinned a 60 minute set. Plus it was raining. And there were so many people smashed into one damp, smalley venue that is the base of KL Tower. Damn, even blogging about this is making me bored...

But enough about that.

The After Party

Naturally we all adjourned to someone's place after the rave. Destination: DP. There was a Tiesto Live In Somewhere DVD on TV and it threw the most gorgeous lights all over the apartment living room. It was surreal, really.

Naturally, there was weed at the place amongst other stuff. There was one guy who was tripping badly, I think, that he started freaking out. Some of the guys were trying to make him take an eramin. Or two.

Naturally there were a couple of 'virgins' who were spaced out on the couch after 'popping their cherries', so to speak. In reality, what they popped was some K based E. Or rather, what their friends gave them was half a K based E each. Which is, in my very humble opinion, NOT a good idea for newbies.

Naturally the (now deflowered) virgins were chewing their cheeks off, starring at the TV screen while the lights from it just kept flashing flashing flashing all over the place in a combo of split second scenes of Tiesto's face and only the sober knows what else. I stuffed some gum into their mouths just to avoid them from eating their tongues.

Ketamine

A common anaesthetic used for both humans and animals. It has hallucegonic and painkiller qualities (duh) that affects you in different ways, depending on how frequent a user you are and so on. Generally, the drug works relatively quickly: the high hits you fast and you better start moving or you'll find it hard to move later. Effects include hallucinations, out of body experiences (seriously not kidding, this experience is known as K-Hole) and a potentially dangerous inability to feel pain. Which I find hilarious when some people bump into chairs (after all your perception of everything is might be slightly skewed when you're under the influence) and not notice it. But this is no laughing matter if you've hurt yourself badly and only notice it the day after. K is, after all an anaesthetic and an illegal drug easilty found in some Es so do practice alot alot alot of caution when consuming in any form. Or any drug for that matter.

The Conclusion

It's advisable NOT to take anything ketamine if you're a newbie.

Time And Tide Waits For No Man

I was at Klue magazine's 20 under 40 party today. This is where Klue mag celebrates 20 Malaysians under age 40 who've achieve alot in their careers. The event was cool (free flow Martel hoho) with alot of good looking models and mini celebrities plagueing (sp?) the upstairs of Atrium, so naturally I shied away from the whole social shebang and stationed myself in the corner..

My cubbyhole gave me a good view of most of the crowd but the clique that caught my eye was the best looking one there that night: Kumpulan Model-Model Pan Asia KL.

I couldn't help noticing them because

1. They were right beside me
2. They were very attractive, despite the fact that they all look alike, guys AND girls
3. They can't dance for kacang menglembu*, guys AND girls.

No, really. I'd lose out to them based on looks but put me dancing beside them and I'd look like Britney Spears after private lessons from Wade Robson. And, mind you, my own sister cringes as if she's suffering from bodily cramps when I attempt to do the shuffle.

Not only were they dancing in front the mirrors (the wall was lined with waist up mirrors) while simultaneously checking themselves out, they also attempted pulling off some weird jerky dance moves not unlike a newborn gangly giraffe suffering from bodily cramps.

So that was how I wasted 2 hours of my life tonight.
